Environment
At Rochem India, we are dedicated to maintaining high ESG standards and fulfilling our vision: “To be a leader in wastewater recycling using membrane and other advanced technologies to conserve resources and sustain our environment.”
We adhere to strict national and regional laws in India, and local and federal regulations in the U.A.E. These laws govern air and water discharge, noise levels, hazardous substance handling, and employee safety. Our manufacturing processes and products meet stringent quality, safety, and health standards.
We manage risks through operational controls, environmental monitoring, and routine risk assessments. By adopting best practices in environment, health, and safety, we work with suppliers to minimize our environmental impact. Regular internal and external audits help identify and mitigate risks.
Our facilities use zero liquid discharge and wastewater reuse systems to comply with environmental laws and prevent pollution. We meet our energy needs primarily through solar power. Our India and UAE facilities are ISO 9001:2015 certified, with our UAE facility also holding ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certifications.
In the last three fiscal years, we invested in:
- A 141 KW rooftop solar power plant
- A sewage treatment plant
- Facilities for treated sewage recycling in production
We ensure a safe and healthy workplace, offering resources and flexibility to support employee wellness. Our safety team includes trained firefighters and safety managers. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we implemented additional health and safety measures to protect our employees.
Safety
At Rochem India, we prioritize providing a safe work environment for all staff and workforce, guided by our Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) policy. Our primary goal is to ensure every task and job is performed safely. We also encourage our suppliers and contractors to align their practices with our safety standards.
Our OSH policy demonstrates our commitment to a safe, incident-free workplace by integrating EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) aspects into all operational activities.
We continually improve our safety performance through:
- Setting and monitoring EHS goals and objectives
- Enhancing individual capabilities by focusing on physical and mental health
- Cultivating a SAFETY-FIRST culture, emphasizing that safety is everyone's responsibility
- Implementing a proactive system using leading and lagging indicators for EHS performance
- Complying with legal statutes, regulations, and codes of practice
- Establishing effective communication, consultation, and participation systems
- Regularly reviewing and monitoring the EHS management system
Our commitment to safety is reinforced by structured training programs delivered by third-party experts. We invest in modernizing processes and equipment to increase productivity and reduce injury risk. Recognizing our human capital as our primary asset, we ensure our staff receive top industry training.
We have implemented a Safety Passport System with a database to monitor all employee training. This system ensures 100% coverage of relevant and significant training based on trade.
Our training system focuses on:
- Measurability: Criteria to measure training effectiveness
- Relevancy: Analysis of delivery methods, topics, trades, communication methods, time periods, and duration for efficient training
- Reliability: Meeting and striving to improve industry standards
By prioritizing safety and investing in continuous improvement, we ensure a safe, healthy, and productive work environment for all.
